Title: Yelling Fore Doesn't Work All that Well
Category: i love golf
Blog Entry: I went Golfing this weekend with my dad and had a very interesting experience. The course we were on has two par fours going in the same direction. The only thing helping to protect the golfers are a row of newly planted trees. So I tee off after my dad and crush one to the left of the fairway. I actually have been losing my slice this year, but this one was straight as can be. Upon looking where the ball was heading I quickly noticed two carts that were in the area where my ball was to land. "OH, BLEEP, FOREEEE" was all i could say upon my saying so my dad quickly shouted right after me "FOREE". I saw the ball bounce and it looked short of the carts but wasn't positive. I didn't hear any yelling from the area of the carts so I must have missed them. Upon getting to the area where the ball was we asked if anyone saw a ball come through. "Yeah it hit him in the head" Besides the enormouse amount of fear I felt I looked up and a guy was about 10 yards away holding his head pacing back and forth. Asking him if he was alright explaining we shouted but the didn't hear. I noticed the man wasn't very pleased but who could be after taking a golf ball off the head. I am pointed to my ball and the group tells me to go ahead and shoot. Of course the fear is now I have to hit a golf ball in front of strangers and one other that I just hit. The shot went off near perfect and we quickly scooted off. I ran into these guys two or three more times on the course and quickly asked if they were ok but felt more embarresed or if he would confront me didn't really know. Anyway the moral of the story. I guess it is better to be hit then not to be. Atleast no one was hurt and two people got to tell an interesting story of the weekend.
