Title: Whupped By A Young Lady

Blog Entry: I am sure atleast some of you have seen the commercial where a young lady is playing with an older man, and pretty much whups up on him. So bad in fact that at the end of the commercial they show the guy throwing his bag of clubs into a pond. I found myself in the same scenario yesterday. I hooked up with a young lady, and her dad for 18 holes. The youngster did play from the womens' tees, while her dad and I played from the tips. For a 13 year old, she already has a very fine all around game. She plays to a 15 handicap, which meant I would be giving her 5 shots. This was at her father's request. What a pleasure it was to watch her play, and it was just as much fun watching a father, and daughter out having a good time. There was no pressure, or yelling of instructions by the father. They both just had a nice time together. we also had a nice visit with each other, as they were visiting from Korea, and yes they spoke english quite well. I played well I thought shooting an 80, but the youngster got me by 1 shooting an 84. All I could do was smile about it, and figure that with improvement over the next 9 years I might see her again someday on the LPGA. I can't throw my clubs away like the guy did in the commercial did, as I have some golf planned in Utah, and Arizona ove the holiday weekend. That, and there was not a water hazard nearby at the end of our round. However I may have a chat with my putter, and make it ride in the bed of my truck, out in the elements, during part of this road trip...lol.............FHs
