When I started my own business (a little over 8 months ago), I figured that this was the easiest way for me to get out of being in "retail management". Horrible hours, not seeing the family, eating too much of the wrong stuff, drinking too much Red Bull, and the real killer...Not Enough Golf! I have to say, that running your own business has a lot of "pitfalls" when you don't plan ahead sometimes. My golf game is even more no existant than it was when I was running the local Big Lots. I think I have maybe 7-8 rounds in this year. I am too busy trying to beat the bushes for the business. It DOES seem to be working, I am up to my eyeballs in orders and I actually get to see my family in the evenings (though it is as they walk by the door of my office). I had to make some sort of change, so I talked with my friend at the local Golf Galaxy and asked if he could use someone for just a couple hours during the week. I knew I could free up at least 4 hours during one of the days that were normally kinda slow for my business. He and I came to an agreement and POOF! I am now a players assistant at my favorite place to shop.

Though it is not being out on the course. It does however calm the "beast" yearning inside for this great game we all love. As an added bonus, it gives me a couple of extra dollars to throw into my business, and the discounts are fabulous. I think what I like best about the job, is the fact that everyone in the building is passionate about the game. That's my "break" from my own business. It will have to do until I have Premium Logowear (my business) up to speed.

With the kids back in school, and darkness coming so quick now, it's hard to have the time of taking Jake (my 7 yr old golf nut) to the range to work on his swing (hey! that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it). I just miss the game that I love. Maybe, if the Golfing Gods are kind enough, I will get out 1-2 more time before the weather gets nasty. Til then...I will be dreaming of thick rough, tight fairways, and fast greens.
