I have always thought that there was Tiger Woods, and then there were the "I am playing for second place" rest of the PGA tour. Well someone has stats on this. Check the link out, and read on. Maybe there is something to his on course intimidation. FHs

Nice post, frog. I love the reference to GlennGarry Glenross in the article.

A few thoughts:

1. In the movie, after all of the salespeople get their crummy leads (Jack Lemmon is a great 'loser' in the movie, who goes about in the rain to peoples houses in the rain, begging for business) - Al Pacino (Tiger) - goes across the street to a bar, starts drinking with a patron, and 'bs'ing - and gets the best sale of the night. You don't need to chase victory, if you are confident, you just take it.

2. Tiger bothers to show up in better physical condition than most, and he has years and years of experience - performing under pressure. His success is in large part a function of experience, consistency.

We can learn a lot from Tiger. We may even actually enjoy golf more, since we don't have to make our living from it.
