Grants New Mexico

Just a quick blog to let folks know about a nice little golf course along I-40 in Grants New Mexico. It's off exit 85, where all the motels are located. Grants is about 70+/- miles west of Albuquerque.

The golf course http://www.golflink.com/golf-courses/course.asp?course=1471856 isa nice little course, with some long par 4s. I paid $27, that included a cart, for 18 holes. I was looking forward to breaking 80, till I played the last 4 holes at 6 over par for an 81. I won't use the excuse of 35 mph head wind in my face, and dropping temps on those last few holes, since I did par the 18th.....lol

So if you are on I-40, and passing through Grants, NM you might want adjust your schedule for time to play 9 or 18 holes at this  course. One other thing. During the warmer months, the signage that reads "WATCH FOR SNAKES" take on serious meaning.

I was going to play in Amarillo TX today, at the http://www.thegolfcourses.net/golfcourses/TX/3445.htm.However, since I drove in a decent rain storm all day, and it was still raining in Amarillo, I just kept on driving. Also since I am desert dweller, I don't carry rain gear. I saw more rain today than I have in the past 4 or 5 years in Las Vegas.....lol   FHs
