It looks like old man winter is making his annual visit here in northern Illinois. Golf will be hit and miss depending on weather and work. If the sun is shinning and there's little wind; 30's are playable. Our local course will be open as long as there is no snow or frost on the course. This time of year they will probably cut two holes in each green so players can alternate between the two since this will be the placements until the spring growing season. This past year has seen my driving distance improve, accuracy give or take, putting hot and cold; and scoring from the upper 80's to the lower 100's. All in all a good year. I was able to play many rounds with my Brother and friends. Winning a few and having to pay out on many others. Winter will find Me trying to stay halfway limber and trying to avoid the winter blanket of fat. I hope everyone was able to enjoy 2008 and lets hope "09 is another great year.
Sorry to hear about ol' Mother Nature putting the kybosh on your regular golf outings. I have played 6 rounds of golf the past 6 weeks while in the FT Worth area. Problem is it should have been more like another extra 10 rounds or so. I caught the flu bug while down here which kept me down for 2 weeks. Have not been that sick in probably 10 years. I am heading back to Vegas this Friday, and should be back on my home course on Monday. Can wait. FHs
I feel your pain. We've had 2 snow storms so far this fall, each shutting the courses down for about a week here in Salt Lake City. Right now it is hit and miss to play but I'm sure the BIG one is on it's way. Last year we got snow about thanksgiving time and it didn't melt until March. Hopefully that won't be the story this year. Anyway...Happy holidays to you and your family!
&nb sp; That must be very hard to have this great game be a "seasonal" activity for you. Sounds like a lot of living room golf for you. Maybe a few swings in the mirror every week to keep the groove going would help out a lot. IF you have the time and money now would be a great time to get a "tempo trainer" swing trainer. Use it now while you can get to a range, find your tempo, then use it in your living room or garage to keep the tempo going. You will be very surprised how well your swing will come back next season.
