Shawn Humphries Two Position Drill

I have a book by Shawn Humphries who is some what  well known. He has apeared on TGC with one of his studenets Troy Aikman. Aikman reports tha he dropped his handicap from double digits to 3 in the span of 18 months. I highly recommend his book "Two Steps To aPerfect Golf Swing". If you don't want to buy it, spend some time at your local Borders Book Store and read it using their comfort zone. That or ask your local library to order it for you. His two steps are the cat's meow for a golf swing. I bought the book for my nephew who after a couple of days of doing the drills broke 90 for the first time in his life. A huge improvement for him.

One of the check points Humphries shares is to lay a club across the inside of your elbows when you are at the top of your backswing. You will most likely need a helper, and a mirror to do this. The idea is to see if your elbows are level at that point in your swing. If they are not,  the horizontal club will point downward either left or right. If the left elbow (right handed golfer) is lower, this could be the cause of a swing plane that is too vertical, which will cause fat shots, and sliced balls. If the right elbow is lower, this could be the cause of a laid off swing plane (too flat) which can cause the golfer to top the ball, or produce low line drives. If the elbows are level, then the golfer's swing is pretty much on their respective plane. Well Frog you have my attention on this one. I hope I can remember this drill when I get home later tonight and have my son check me out. It seems to make sense to me. What was the second tip?
