20 yr retired USMC. I do everything that comes to mind that may help me enjoy life to the fullest...whether it does or not! Hopefully it doesn't hurt ...to much anyway.
Howzit: Hurricane Dolly was much worse for me. I think hurricane IKE may not even get me wet. Thanks for thinking of me eventhough I doubt Ike will be a issue for me. We are too far south in Texas.
Yeah I know where Camp Smith is. It used to be Headquarters for the CINPACAF and I used to brief him on status of Communications Programs/Projects I had going on throughout the Pacific. I played Kanaohe several time in my three years at Wheeler AFB (at the time) now I think it's Wheeler Army Air Field. I really likes that course. It had a lot of character and SOme beautiful holes. Anyway my wingmen and I did the same thing, we went around playing variuous courses. Hickam AFB, Barbers Point, Kanaohe, Leilahua, etc. I have been back on vacations many times since I left the military and have played several of the newer civilian courses. My favorite is Ko Olina, They hosted a senior event and several LPGA events. I also like Hawaii Prince, and Waikele. They are expensive though. I am looking forward to returning to live in Hawaii. I will try Kahuku on my next trip based on your recommendation. Nothing like a challenge.
I am originally from Alabama and my wife is from Virginia. We are planning on staying here for awhile though, however we might eventually move back East. I went through Boot Camp at Parris Island.
Howzit, I did spend some time as a wing nut on the islands. My wife is also from Oahu. We are in fact returning there when the wife retires. I thought perhaps that's where it came from but wanted to be sure so I asked. Hey did you ever play golf at Kanaohe Golf Course? As I remember that is one nice course right along the ocean. Mahalo for the response, and Aloha.
Howzit, I am relatively new to the site and just wanted to say Hi. I was wondering how you came by the username Howzit? I am a 20 year veteran also (USAF).
