A special shout out to all of my friends! I have missed you all and the 19th Hole!
I’m sorry I haven’t been around much. Things have been so busy!
I have started weekly lessons with a golf pro recommended to me by a friend. I have to say the progress is intoxicating. I just wish I had more time to practice. Oh well, there are only so many hours in the day. I have started playing in a Wednesday evening 9-hole ladies league. Most of the ladies that I have met are so nice. However, some of them…..well, let’s just say, “are not”. I just don’t understand why some women are so catty on the golf course. What is there to gain by acting rude or superior on the golf course? Shouldn’t we leave that up to the cranky men?
Between lessons and getting to play golf a couple times of week, work has had me swamped. I’m up for a promotion so I am confident that the extra effort is really going to pay off.
I did manage to take a vacation last month. As much as I would have loved to take a golf vacation perhaps to North Carolina, California or Texas, very few of my girl friends are golfers. We decided upon a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise. A hot sun, blue ocean and fruity drinks with little umbrellas all of which screamed “I’m on vacation”. It was wonderful. One of my friend’s husbands won the belly flop contest. I’m not sure why that is important to share, but it was for some reason a highlight of the trip. I did get to play putt-putt on the ship. I didn’t do so well. You try putting with the ground swaying back and forth under you and let me know how you do….
I am committed to spending more time here at the 19th Hole. I see a lot of new members I just can’t wait to meet!
Please keep in touch and don’t give up on me for my lapses in participation.

Hello All!
I want to send just a quick shout out to all of my 19thHole friends.
I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately. I have been working like a crazy person and haven't had any time at all to play golf...not even a bucket of balls at the range.
I'm hoping to get to play on Saturday. Maybe a break is exactly what my game needed and I will career it this weekend!
Keep In Touch!

What’s that saying?…."A bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at the office?"
Here recently I think mind numbing spreadsheets, boring conferences calls and even angry emails from the boss would be less painful and upsetting to the ego than my play on the golf course.
Friends, I think I’m coming down with a bad case of the double-bogey blues…..
I know it’s early in the year and I’m still shaking the dust off the old sticks but I can’t help but thinking it’s more than a winter lay off that has me scoring sky high.
It’ wild drives into places I’ve never been before. It’s three-jacks from here to barely there. It’s chunky wedges after a smokin’ long drive. It’s what feels like overnight stays in not so deep or difficult bunkers. It’s lost balls and the dreaded out of no-where shanks. If the truth be known, I think it’s not only the double-bogey blues that have plagued me…I think I also have a case of the triple-bogey blues.
When did Bogey become so HERO that it puts a spring in my step…What happened to pars and even the occasional sweet tweet birdie?
I’m totally freakin’ out here! I could really use a healthy dose of sanity.
A little sympathy might feel good too.

Hot Date? The golf course, of course! Where else can you see what he’s really like!
I played golf on Friday with a stunner of a guy. Gorgeous, sweet and charming….or so I thought. I have gone out with this guy a couple times in the past few weeks and have always had a wonderful time. I figured it was time to take it to the next level and invite him to play around…..on the golf course that is! (Get your mind out of the gutter!)
What an eye opening experience it was! The sweet and charming prince turned out to be a real toad on the links!
I was dishing with my golf girlfriends and venting my relationship frustrations and together we came up with a few tips on what to look for when you play golf with a man for the first time. After all, there is not a better place to judge a man’s character than on the golf course. I am so impressed by our insight (or at least I was after a few drinks) that I thought I’d pass it along….
Does he throw clubs? Dump Him
Does he grin and bear it? He might be a Keeper
Does he mark his ball closer to the hole than where it really should be? Dump him
Does he respect the rules and accept all kinds of luck even the bad kind with a good nature? He might be a Keeper
Does he shirk on paying his bets? Dump Him
Is he quick push and go double or nothing on the last hole when you’ve got him up a stroke? He might be a Keeper
Has he gone through a six pack of beer by hole number 6 and it’s only 10:30 in the morning? Dump Him
Does he graciously offer to buy you a drink after having lost to “A Girl”? He might be a Keeper
Does he stand in the middle of the fairway practicing his swing when you’re in the woods looking for a lost ball? Dump Him
Does he make an effort to step off your yardage for you? He might be a Keeper
When someone from the group behind accidentally tags a drive and hits into you, does he jump in the cart to race back looking for a fight? Dump Him
Does he understand pace of play and happily move to the side when a faster group behind would like to play through? He Might be a Keeper
If after playing with your new man you realize that he definitely needs to be dumped, don’t worry! After all you are at the golf course. There’s sure to be a 19thHole close by! Where else to meet fun and sometimes charming men?
Stay strong, ladies. Don’t be afraid to get your golfer groove on to see if he’s really the one for you!

Hey all you Happy Gilmore's out there!
Can I just tell you how much I love the 19thHole (This site as well as my favorite local hang out!)
Here's my nag though. I'm here to meet people and make friends and I see a number of people when I browse but all I can see are location and age. Why is no one positing a picture and completing the profile?
Is anyone out there?
