I cordially invite you meet this month’s 19th Hole Super Star. We are proud to introduce you to one of the nicest men you will ever meet on-line or off, MacInTheSandAgain.

Chosen for his kind words of encouragement to other members, his sense of humor and above all else, his crazy love for the game of golf, if you haven’t met Mac, this is your chance. In addition to answering a few of our Get to Know you Questions, MacInTheSandAgain will be available at the 19thHole’s Live Chat every Saturday from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. CDT thru the rest of July.

The Dawg’s SUPER Star Interview with MacInTheSandAgain:

What is your hometown/town of birth?
Lima, Ohio

Have you ever had a pet that was not a cat or dog? What was it?
Yes. I grew up on a farm in NW Ohio. I once had a raccoon as a pet, that is until he learned how to open his cage one night.

What was the last song you sang when no one else was around?
Ok, now this is a ONE TIME question! Had to be "Slow Ride" by Foghat! Yea, yea, what can I say I love my classic rock.

What are 3 of your favorite TV shows?
Now this is hard since I live in Germany and "American Forces Network" (AFN) offers a few select shows. With that in mind, the medical show "HOUSE", the old series from the late 60s "Dark Shadows" and "Two An a Half Men".

If you could play golf anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Hands down Killeen Golf Club, Killeenbeg, County Kildare, Ireland. Then I would be playing with my late father's family!

First thing you notice about the opposite (or same) sex?
Smile. Is it real or are they all show.

Croutons or bacon bits?
Bacon bits!

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
After Eight Mint

Last movie you saw in theater?
It has been so long, I can not remember.

What scares you?
Raising my 4 year old son, Ryan and our 4 month old foster daughter, Alexandra!

What is the most valuable swing tip you have ever received?
"Do not over muscle the ball." I tend to try and crush the ball.

What is a personality trait in others that really irritates you?
When someone talks to you and does not make eye contact. If they can not make eye contact than are they really tell you the truth. (I spent my Army career in law enforcement and criminal investigations.)

If you’re life was to be made into a movie, who would you want to play your role?
KEONI!

What do you normally eat for breakfast?
Breakfast? What is that?

What would we find in your golf bag besides, golf clubs?
Sun screen, extra hand towel (to keep my brow dry after searching for my ball in the sand trap) and my LARGE sport drink.

Do you prefer to cook or order take out?
I love to cook! That is why my wife married me!

What was your first job?
Besides working on the family farm? I joined the Army during my second year in college.

What was your first car?
1975 Monte Carlo Special Edition

When you mark your golf ball, what type of design do you use?
"MAC"

Other than golf, what is your favorite sport to watch?
I love football! NCAA FOOTBALL! There is all the history and rivalry between the schools. You gotta love them BUCKEYES!

If you could change any one part of your game, what would it be?
My short game out of the bunker.

What is the greatest memory you have on the golf course? Am STILL trying to produce one!

What is the best advice you have given to another golfer?
I am far from giving advice on golf. I am still relearning the game. However, I have given this advice to a few friends, "Forget the last shot because it is over, think about your next shot because it will be your best!" This is something that I learned after playing/coaching football for 40 years. Forget the past, learn from it, but forget it. Your next attempt will be your best if you believe in yourself!
