I’m sorry I haven’t been around much.Things have been so busy!
I have started weekly lessons with a golf pro recommended to me by a friend.I have to say the progress is intoxicating. I just wish I had more time to practice.Oh well, there are only so many hours in the day. I have started playing in a Wednesday evening 9-hole ladies league.Most of the ladies that I have met are so nice. However, some of them…..well, let’s just say, “are not”.I just don’t understand why some women are so catty on the golf course. What is there to gain by acting rude or superior on the golf course?Shouldn’t we leave that up to the cranky men?
Between lessons and getting to play golf a couple times of week, work has had me swamped. I’m up for a promotion so I am confident that the extra effort is really going to pay off.
I did manage to take a vacation last month.As much as I would have loved to take a golf vacation perhaps to North Carolina, California or Texas, very few of my girl friends are golfers.We decided upon a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise.A hot sun, blue ocean and fruity drinks with little umbrellas all of which screamed “I’m on vacation”.It was wonderful.One of my friend’s husbands won the belly flop contest.I’m not sure why that is important to share, but it was for some reason a highlight of the trip. I did get to play putt-putt on the ship.I didn’t do so well.You try putting with the ground swaying back and forth under you and let me know how you do….
I am committed to spending more time here at the 19th Hole.I see a lot of new members I just can’t wait to meet!

Hey woman! Welcome back and GOOD LUCK on the promotion! More money = more golf, right? I went to Chicago for 10 days and only played once in Michigan. Difficult for me, but my friend there doesn't play. It was good to be reminded there is life outside golf. Sorta.
It seems that every league has a few crabby people, be it men's of women's league. The best part is when you finally get good enough to whoop em! That usually brings em down to earth. Keep practicing and hit em straight!
ACE GIRL! Lovely Blog! Keep up the good work at work and improving your golf game. Thanks for the update and good to see you again on the 19th hole. In September my wife and I are looking at taking a cruise.
