Chipping away...

02/26/2008 14:02:34 / like playing 36 holes

We had a big power surge thing happen at 1:09 this afternoon. I was in a restaurant with my team from work. It just seemed like a serious surge...made the music in the place turn off for about 10 minutes, so that was nice. I hate music over my head and they wouldn't turn it down. Last lunch there!

Anyway, @ a million people lost power...I just left the lunch place and came home. No need to get stuck in my office building!

I should have gone to the range. I'd really like to get better, but so far, i dont' practice. GEESH!

Now that I'm the President of my EWGA golf chapter, I probably have to stop playing league on saturdays. last week this particular long time member decided to start bitching about decisions i've been making. She's a pain in the ass anyway, and does NOTHING for the chapter, hasn't lifted a finger to do anything in the 3 years i've been a member...so i put the "ignore" button on her. But who wants to listen to that on saturdays. My husband TOLD me not to get involved, but I didnt' listen. Oy.

Our chapter needs new leaders and new decisions. That particular old guard treated the group like their own private golf group for 8. Well they can all go find someplace else to hang out...I've got 112 other members who would like to see some change!! Change there will be. WOO HOO!

Sunday morning group is still good! No cats thanks. We are getting more golf for more beginners. They are fun...very exicted and progressing so quickly. Tracking the positives too.

Wow Steph, can't play Saturday golf, no practice at the range ... sounds miserable. Consider getting a cat and getting rid of the golf POLITIKS.

I dig what you're saying, Mon. To the point where I am dedicating my leadership talents to inspiring my small business employees - focus on what you can influence - and putting the rest of my energy into stuff like golf. I'm realizing there is so much talk, and thought, and stuff around golf, and then there is:

playing golf, playing, playing, playing...

Smart to put the ignore button on this woman who is complaining. I work with a bunch of stagehands and the ones who do the complaining are always the ones who are late to work and are completley lazy watching other people doing all the lifting and physical labor.

Change is good and there will ALWAYS BE SOMEONE who will not like it. But that is what makes this world turn. Overcoming obsticles. You cant piss off 112 people to make 2 people happy, you dig what I am saying.
