What a game!

05/11/2007 09:17:26 / i love golf

I've got to share my round from yesterday!  My wife has threatened me with life and limb if she hears another word about it so I must share it with you.  I shot 86..my lowest score ever!  I had 4 pars on the front and 5 on the back...4 in a row!

Two holes must be shared.  The hole which broke my 4 in a row streak was a par 4  and #18 which was a par 5.  On the par 4 my second shot ended up in a greenside bunker.  Now, this wasn't just a "fried egg" lie, the ball was totally buried.  We had to excavate to locate the top of it!  I broke out my trusty 60 deg Case backhoe and went to work.  It wasn't pretty and it wasn't spectacular but it was on the green and I two putted for bogie!

On 18 my second shot left me at 150 out 10 ft from a creek that runs across the fairway, down the left side of the fairway to the front of the green and around the left side of the green.  The right side of the green is protected with bunkers and stiff hills.   I know I can make a 150yd shot with my 6 iron so I let-er rip.  The ball landed in the water just left of the green!  After laughing and crying a little I dropped a ball and let-er rip.  The ball went to the same spot! At this time I had to back up and re-group.  My mind was realing about how I was crashing such a great round on the last hole!  All of a sudden Tin Cup popped into my mind and I decided "to heck with the score...I'll make it or run out of balls trying!"  I dropped another, landed it on the green and two putted for a snow man.     I never add my score until I finish so I was really suprised to see what I actually ended up with.  It's funny....with such a great game, the two holes that stick in my mind are not par's but victorious bogies and snowmen!

I think Jim is right, my sore right foot is keeping my weight transfering left instead of staying back.  I wonder if there's a way to keep it just a little sore....Oh well

My wife thanks you for listening to me so she won't have to!

You Rock!  What can we do to introduce your wife to the game?  Once she gets hooked, she'll be the one telling the stories!  ---love your blog! JamieDrue

Congrats again howzit. Great round, even with your two excursions.

It sounds like your wife may have some ideas on how to keep that right foot sore. I know mine does!
