Went to the driving range yesterday with the new Ping G10 woods. I used to take 1-2 big hops before I hit the back fence at our driving range. Out of 18 balls 3 flew to the fence, 6 hit the very base of the fence and the rest were short 1 hoppers. So I definently gained distance from the fitting. My accuracy needs a little work. Left a few to the right. More right than I have before BUT none were left and no duck hookies. I am sure I can correct the right problem. As for the 3 wood I felt it too gained a little distance but I am for sure going to need more work on that 1. Had a few go left I think from the heel making contact first with the mat. But I really do love looking down the shaft of the Ping 3wood better than my Titleist 904f. Although the Titleist weight I really love in the head.It will be a hard time losing that relationship with my 3 wood. I am keeping both the old KZG driver and my Titleist 3 wood warm in my closet for" in case of emergency" if you know what I mean.
congrats on your par 4 eagle. That is awesome!! Always a lot of fun to see those go in. Texas definently need a low boring club. Lots of knock downs for sure, nd I have to agree with you it makes the game very interesting.
Sounds like you are having some fun with your new sticks. I don't planon purchasing any new clubs for quite a while.
I am in Saginaw TX for at least the next four weeks visiting with family I had to put my 460 driver away for a while, and have been using my old 9.5 Olimar Plus driver for better accuracy. I know what you mean about keeping older clubs nearby. It also keep my ball flight lower, which is a good thing, since it is some what windy right now. My only other wood in my bag bag is my 3W. Rest are all irons. Knock downs, with firm fairways are fun. Carded a 78 at Willow Springs? GC while playing with my nephew. Even had a rare par 4 eagle today. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good...LOL
