Blogging for Two
DATE: 07/18/2007 13:21:26 / MOOD: i love golf
Where better to share great news than with friends at the 19th Hole?
That being said, I would like to share with you that my husband and I are expecting a future PGA or LPGA super star in Febuary. This will be our first baby so you can imagine our excitement.
I'm looking forward to the Second Trimester where I'm told I will play the greatest golf of my life. All I can say is BRING IT ON! I can't wait.
We won't know if we are going to be blessed with a boy or a girl until the end of September. At that time, be prepared to participate in a name the baby contest. You think I'm joking....I'm not.
It should be fun and I hope to celebrate this exciting time with all my friends here at the 19th Hole.

Father Knows Best
DATE: 05/30/2007 12:39:58 / MOOD: i love golf
The WeReview4U’s recent blog reminded me that Father’s Day will be here before we know it.
With that in mind, I want to invite everyone to help me pay a special tribute to all of the Great Dad’s out there.
I don’t know about you, but had it not been for my Dad I would never have learned how to “grip it and rip it” or how to hit a one-handed back hand punch shot when that drive went astray and my ball ended up on the wrong side of a tree trunk. I would have never learned how to gamble with the boys while acting like a lady. I would never have felt the exhilaration of going for that par five in two and the lesson learned when that ball didn’t quite make it and went splash. I would never have learned that following rules is honorable and cutting the corner and going for the green takes guts.
In honor of all of the great men who love golf, I have created a 19thHole Group, “Father Knows Best”. This Group is Open to ALL members.
Please join this group and submit a new entry and share your story about your Dad. Maybe his favorite joke, swing tip, funny story or just a special memory on the golf course. Is Dad not a golfer? That’s OK, you are. Surely somewhere along the way you have passed a bit of wit and wisdom on to your children or an impressionable youngster. Don’t be stingy! Don’t be shy. Share that advice with all of us. We want to celebrate you, too.
Let’s make this year’s Father’s Day the best ever!

A Hole-In-One
DATE: 05/01/2007 20:21:38 / MOOD: i love golf
Webster defines a Hole-In-One as “The driving of a golf ball from the tee into the hole in a single stroke.” Come OOONNNN!!!!! Could it sound any more boring? (No wonder non-golfers make fun of real golfers.)
The definition just doesn’t do it justice! I can’t think of any thing more exciting or dramatic than the all perfect golf shot --- AKA: Hole-in-one.
I don’t care how great of a player you might be, when it comes to a hole-in-one, you have to admit that the stars align perfectly just for you. Sometimes a hole-in-one is picture perfect and sometimes it’s a bladed shots that bounces off the ball washer, hits the flag and then go in the hole. HOWEVER, as we all know too well, it doesn’t really matter how it happens, just that it does.
I created a Group here at the 19thHole.com celebrating hole-in-one’s and those lucky enough to feel the rush of a perfect shot.
If you’ve had a hole-in-one before, I want to hear all about it. Don’t leave anything out! Was it a tuning fork in your loins or was it a slap shot that got a good bounce?
I have a friend here at the 19thHole that has had 5…Yes! F…I…V…E….hole-in-ones. (Girlfriend should have bought a lotto ticket a long time ago). Have you had more than 5?
Let’s see who here at the 19thHole holds the record for most, the luckiest, the unluckiest (like me and had my only hole-in-one when I hit a mulligan……YIKES!) and even those that have come just centimeters from golf’s greatest shot.
Please join MY GROUP I want to hear your story! Simply POST a NEW TOPIC and give us the scoop!

Attention All Members – Beware of Spammers!
DATE: 04/13/2007 13:09:29 / MOOD: throwing clubs
It has been brought to my attention that some members of the 19thHole are not here for the purpose the site was intended.
The mission of 19thHole.com is to provide a meeting place for “golfers”. A place where “golfers” can share their stories, swing tips, shots of the day, missed putts, favorite new golf equipment and local golf courses; A place where golfers young and old can interact in a safe and fun environment.
It is our goal to provide this meeting place for free to all those who love the game like we do. Unfortunately, being a free member driven site is not always as good as it sounds. The fact that the site is free leaves the door open for unwelcome spammers and questionable members.
I am asking our legitimate members (and you know who you are) to help us monitor this great meeting place for golfers and rid the site of illegitimate members (and YES, YOU know who you are).
I have included below a few ways to spot questionable members, what to do when faced with a questionable member and our process to handle the situation.
How to Spot Questionable Member:
- You are left a comment or message asking for your instant messenger details.
Remember, 19thHole.com provides a safe and fun Live Chat for our members to communicate instantly.
- You receive a message asking for you to contact a member at a different email address.
19thHole.com provides a fantastic message system so that you can stay in touch without ever having to leave a safe and secure site or reveal your personal email address.
- You receive an inappropriate message.
This is the most difficult to argue as inappropriateness is left up to the member. We are asking you to use your best judgment. In my opinion a legitimate first message from a member is something such as, “Hey Bob, what’s your favorite local golf course?” I have sent a few messages like this myself. However, a message requesting late night, long walks on the beach when you’re profile blatantly states that you are happily married or a message requesting help breaking free 6 million dollars in an off shore account is not appropriate and not a legitimate message and will NOT be tolerated.
We have faith in those that truly make up the golf community and know that you will use your best judgment in reporting questionable members.
If you receive an inappropriate message the easiest course of action is to block that member. (The Block member feature is also a great tool if you have an innocent member that may have a crush on you due to that dashing profile picture and is simply annoying you with silly and irrelevant messages.)
To block a member:
- Visit the questionable member’s profile and click Block Member under the Communications Panel on the Left hand side of the page.
This will ensure that the questionable member is unable to contact you again.
As staff of 19thHole.com, I can assure you spammers are intelligent enough not to send inappropriate messages to us. Therefore when you simply block a member my colleagues and I do not have any notice of the action and can not take steps to protect other members. It only takes a few seconds to report a questionable member.
What to do when faced with a questionable member:
- Access the Contact Us link located at the bottom of every page(http://www.19thhole.com/contact-us/)
- Provide us with the reasons you feel a member might be questionable or a copy of any message that you have received that you feel is inappropriate and not in the spirit of 19thHole.com
Our process to handle the situation:
- We will review the complaint on a case by case basis and contact the questionable member with either a warning or a notice of removal from the site.
We will depend on members to help monitor the site and make the 19thHole.com safe for all users. We will also look forward to your feedback and suggestions. Thanks for your support and your understanding!< SPAN>JamieDrue

The site will always be growing and changing to meet the needs of our members! We have many new members still trying to get familiar with all of the fun features here at the 19thHole. It won’t be long and we’ll all be “Pros”….maybe not on the first 18, but definitely at the 19thHole.
Our goal is to provide you, a member of the golfing community, a FREE on-line hang out to tell the world a little about yourself. A place where you can stay in touch with not only the local gang but also reach out and meet other golfers all over the world.
Here at the 19thHole, you are able to feature your favorite pictures and videos. Blog about your golf successes and disappointments and know that whether it was a good or a bad day on the links, you are not alone in your quest to conquer the game.
You are able to create your own meeting place for existing and new friends or organizations through the 19thHole Groups. Are you planning a golf tournament? Test your knowledge with our Quizzes or better yet submit your own and stump other members. Looking to sell one of the dozen drivers or putters you have stashed in the garage? Forget the Garage Sale. Visit our Classified Section to sell clubs, job hunt, find real estate, find or post volunteer opportunities and so much more.
There are so many great features and best of all, they are all for free. We here at 19thHole.com are not buying or selling anything so please feel free to make yourself at home. You provide the cocktails and 19thHole.com will provide the fun!

Ok, so you’ve created your profile, seen a few pictures in our Gallery and maybe even read a blog or two. You feel 19thHole ready to get out there and meet people, but how?
It’s easy and so much FUN! Simply click on BROWSE in the top Navigation to be directed to Browse Members by certain characteristics. You can browse by anything from occupation and gender to location and body type. Are you single and looking to find a little romance? This is perfect for you and a great way to narrow down your search requirements! Are you so married that the thought of being single again just wears you out but would love to find a Saturday morning game in your town? Look no further than the Browse Section of 19thHole.
As the site is still very young, the number of members might be limited or not have profiles completed. Don’t worry; we’re confident that will change with a little time. Check back with us to see new member profiles and the opportunity to meet new people!
Remember - If you want people to reach out to you, give them a reason to! Make sure and complete your profile and don't forget to put that picture!

The Count Down
DATE: 03/25/2007 19:31:03 / MOOD: i love golf
The count down has begun!
Our team is busy with last minute changes and final tweaks. Knowing our team as I do, I am confident that this will be an on-going gig. We will greatly depend on user feedback to help us shape the future of 19thHole.com, the Premier On-line Social Network.
Be sure to sign up for a sneak preview and get familiar with the many areas of your new community. Let us know your thoughts and how we can improve!
Having trouble finding something on the site? Be sure to visit the Forum section (located in the main navigation at the top of the page). Here you can visit the “Guide to the 19thHole” and see other questions asked and answers posted. Not finding your question? Don’t be shy. It’s so easy to submit your own question. A member of the 19thHole Community will post an answer! The forum section is also a great place to add a new discussion topic. Let’s say that you want to have an open discussion about the greatness of Tiger Woods or have a question about a unique rules situation. Just post a statement or question. This is a great place to get a lot of feedback!
